100 Things to do before you die.

Is a book that make me feel I’m reading a new book even if it’s the eleventh time.

The book is from newscietist & is a collection of cool, thrilling, funny, horrible or weird scientific stuff. Definitely it’ll teach you a lot of new things in such a cool way. It’s a mixture of Mathematics, computer science, physics, biology or anything scientific.

Fall In Love is also listed in the book.
“…And the funny thing is that it doesn’t matter if your belle or beau isn’t the most attractive around, your brain will delude into ignoring that.Buck teeth, spotty face and love handles vanish as a true love potion of mood altering chemicals & hormones – dopamine,serotonin,oxytocin-turns the world rose-tinted….”

Hope you won’t hate Learn to have multiple orgasms,Be fooled by virtual reality,Eat the worlds weirdest dish or make liquid nitrogen ice cream, understand natures mystery number or write your name on atoms.

Of course you have to be Richard Branson at least if you are not Bill Gates, to do some of listed things. But there are things we can actually do. I strongly believe that this one is a must in a geeks book shelf. Hope you’ll enjoy it. Don’t forget to share comments.

Update: One of the co-authors, Dave Freeman is not walking on this planet anymore :( .

I never wanna make this blog a cinema or filmstar gossip blog. But I couldn’t avoid doing this post coz my buddy Naya wanted me to post this.

“Asai mang piyambanna” is a new sinhala movie which would be released soon [or may be already released...Heh I don't watch T.V]. Hope you have seen trailers on T.V if you are not some one like me & watching T.V. Naya emphasises that it’s a translated copy ;) of the bollywood film Taal. I’m not gona think twice to believe him coz I’m 101% sure of his opinion due to earlier experiences. However it’s still your choice whether watching the film & realise whether Naya is right. Naya invites movie lovers to watch taal before watching “Asai mang piyambanna”.

Naya says “Pooja Umashankar,Roshan Ranawana & Sanath Goonathilleke act in ‘Asai mang piyambanna’ while Aishwarya Rai & Akshay Khanna act in Taal”

I’ve heard few songs of BNS which are gaining popularity when I *heard* the trailers on T.V.

This is a review. But this is not a paid review. This is a ‘threatened’ review. My cousin threatened me she’d forget our relationship if I don’t do this.

Well guys & gals I’m gona make a review about Lanka Music Club.com, a new web site boasting it’s dedicated to Lankan music. But it is more of a Sirasa superstar fan boy/gal club site. Well it’s possible some one or other thinking sirasa superstar is Sri Lankan music.

On that site you guys can…

-watch not-very-good quality  videos of superstar (will be great for people who sleep in front of T.V & just miss the thing) which are uploaded on GooTube[It's YouTube owned by Google.]

-make huge debates about buggy Sirasa super star as it is for world peace.

-create/join fan clubs.

-Share the pain of the departure of your favorite (artificial) star.

-Support your favorite (artificial) star.

-win mag-never-seen prices :P

If you are not like me & love Sirasa Superstar this is a good hit for you. Authorities say there are 200+ registered fans already on board for past few days. Why don’t you just check this out for yourself? Here’s the Link.

Lanka Music Club [ The site seems to be moved to yahaluwo.com ]

Note: I personally believe that this site needs few modifications on it’s look & feel. However it’s a good approach, marketing wise.

I was looking for something to post here & found this in a deep dusty folder in my compy. It was condemed due to bad writing, but i thought…who cares? so here it is…

I’m not a T.V lover. But I really love “Ran Depeya”, because every episode (all the episodes of all ran depeya crap) makes me laugh, including the ones which are intended to be very serious. But I miss the fun coz I never watch takaRAN DEPEYA [I spend very little time with T.V.]

I know there are lots & lots of people who are watching ran depeya & crying, laughing, dancing sometimes f*cking & puking…I’ll say…doing everything the characters do. And I know this very well; making fun of someone’s fun is not very good for a blogger. It’ll possibly make some readers angry. If you are going to stop reading me because of this article, so be it.

Check the following quote.
Api denna hemadama anuradhai praveenai wage adaren Indimu” – roughly means “we’ll be in love forever like Anuradha & praveena”.

What you read is a part of a love letter which has been given to a guy in grade 9 by a gal same age, learning in a school somewhere in Sri Lanka. I think this example is more than enough to prove the Ran Depeya [or even wider; television] effect on lankan culture. (Thanks to my friend Nayomal for the nice story)

I have no problem even if those kids f*ck like Anuradha & Praveena & I don’t mean love should be restricted for the grade 9 ADULTS. The problem is whether those kids do it with the correct attitude. Do they know what they are doing? They are just imitating what they see on screen. Some one or other would say that the responsibility of the kids is in their parents’ hands. I don’t have an answer but a question back; do the parents have a brain to understand that Ran Depeya affects their kids? If yes, how is Ran Depeya so popular? Sri Lanka has a good Literacy rate but still we have to go so far to get better ‘intelligence’ rate.

I saw a huge debate on “Poor O/L exam results” all around the country, sometimes back. Did any one think that T.V. stats are a considerable fact on that failure? , personally I believe it. It’s evident that T.V. is slowly but strongly harming mother Lankas future. It makes a dumb & lame generation who just believe what they see, without any further thinking. The whole system including education is tailored to make dumb machines to work out a given task and not to think.

I know that there will be a lot of people, broken hearted, calling me “Wimal Weerawansa no2”. Please don’t be that much cruel to call me in name of someone in lankan politics. [My definition for lankan politics is ‘the donkey feeding system’]
I’ll finish this with something I found on a productivity tips roundup, just three words.
“Avoid the tube”. Dead simple.

PS- Sometimes back I found a nice article about “mahagedara” on lame-duck which is a piece of takaRan Depeya & it encouraged me to write my own.

I’m back here from the future. doncha believe? it’s true… i swear. I was typing a blog entry & suddenly I understood everything is cahnging around me & at last I got a high-tech surround. I was wondering what’s going on & checked for the date. It was far away from 2007.

I looked at the computer screen. Oh there’s something I’m familiar, Google. What should I search in future google. I was in a dilemma. finally I got an idea.

I googled for “Where’s my D*ck. I did this because I didn’t have anything else to do. Do you know what google got for me?

“It’s still there. Where it used to be”. I was amazed. I just collect my mind & asked the gal next seat to search for the same key words. She frowned at me & laughed. then she typed the keywords & hit ENTER.

The results made me Yeeeks .

“sorry, there were no search results for your search”. And there was “did you mean P*ssy” on top of the results page.

I felt faintish & found myself back here.
